Black holes

Seems like if the big bang was not the first big bang, and it's a cyclical event, then black holes may become unstable once they run out of matter to consume. Once all black holes have consumed their galaxies, and all the available ISM, and each other, and there is just one, and it runs out of all matter to consume, all gravity is consolidated, all EVERYTHING is consolidated, then a new reaction begins to occur, like an engine that has run out of coolant. The reaction reaches a critical point and an explosion occurs that is proportionate to the mass of the object.

Of course, this depends on the assumption that the Universe will stop expanding, and that the weak force known as gravity will gradually mop up.

Thus spoke The Armchair Physicist.

But it's not "consolidating," maybe. It's maybe spitting out the other side (in another dimension) in a Cosmic Blowtorch.

Wow, you're gonna make me actually research this...

OK, possibly, but if that's ALL it was doing, then we should similarly have other dimensions spewing particles into ours, right? True, I think, If the principle of entropy is to be held.

Even considering black hole evaporation, black holes do merge, becoming more powerful, so in theory they could all eventually merge into a single black hole.

Just found this article on Big Bounce that better explains the cyclical event I was thinking about. I was just wondering about how a black hole goes from being an implosive force to an explosive force.

Interesting coincidence that the article you pulled mentions the little town I grew up in, Green Bank, and was published just about 1 year before my family moved there!

They're doing work with microquasars that's helping them figure out the "accretion-jet" thing (basically what they suck in and what they blow out again...)

In the future/past/future, we are the X-rays of another dimension.
